LittLe BiTs

some of this

some of this

and some of this
Late winter and early spring have dropped some good days on us whether it's been at Wrightsville Beach or a leap across the inlet to Masonboro.  The last couple weeks the weather has been steadily improving and the water temp has been on the rise.  Most people are out without boots and gloves and the walrus suits of winter are slowly getting thinner.  Bikinis and board shorts have been along the edge of the shore and a couple in the line-up but they aren't lasting long in the 60 deg water.  It won't be long and we will all be out of the neoprene for a while.  Hallelu Jah.

D.S.T.

daylight savings at wrightsville beach.  this started friday and lasted through the weekend.
4.5'@15secs.  longer waits but uncw was on spring break so the line up was not crowded.  Saturday morning started out at 37degrees and nobody out.  Al and I had Cstreet to ourselves from 8 til 10.  fingers and feet were mostly numb when we were done.  Masonboro, sunday morning and the crowd was out in full force.  there were some sets breaking out passed the jetty,  a couple guys on longer setups got'em way outside and had some big faces to play on.  meanwhile the rest of us were scrapping it out on the inside for steep drops and trying to out run the close outs.  it is still going today 3.9' at 14secs WB has 10kt NE wind so you know where you should be.  get there if you can. later.

Masonboro Turkey Day

11/26.10 thigh and 15SW

11/28/10 cold sunrise
Turkey Day at Masonboro was small but when your with a good friend and nobody else out it doesn't really matter.  Friday there was a bigger swell maybe waist high sets every 5-10 mins and a few people scattered along the beach.  Carolina Beach Sunday morning I was glad to see nothing except the sunrise as it was 35degs w/ a 10KNE wind (~29deg windchill).  NOT READY FOR COLD WEATHER AND COLD WATER, but it is coming.
