esa-snc sunday @ carolina beach

wake up early

looking bait
little snap

bottom turn

early rise sunday for 1st esa event.  got down at 7:15 to find out the boy didn't surf til 1.  Hum, well
went out for a surf and goodness you could taste the menhaden in the water, smell'em taste'em and feel the oil in your eyes.  i am hope the guy in the yellowfin found bait with ease 'cause it seemed to be everywhere.  finally 1:15 menehuenes up and little snap was worth a 5 (6.4 got him 2nd in his heat).  long day to have the waves disappear under the tide and the mene's final got moved to ocean isle in a month.  alrighty then.

4'10" new ride for the boy #5 for me getting better
WOW, summer is cruising by, pain and surfing.  Can't say surf has been great but it has been doable almost all summer.  Not sure how many days it has been but we have not missed many, feeling water logged and the back is tight.  Must be growing new muscles.  The kid is loving the new ride.  A 4'10" fat bottom ride that i installed Future fin boxes in without a jig of any sorts.  Nerve racking at best.
Here's a collection of web found favorites since i haven't been taking too many photos this summer.  All (except the last one) were found on the web and I have no idea where credit belongs, sorry about that.
Enjoy what's left of the neoprene days.

rooster shack lemon simmons

little wind never hurts

weeeeeee, summer time is in full effect.  south end crowded as usual.  couple days of flatness and several days of wind/storm driven swell.  busted shoulder got me taking a few photos of the local
crowd doing their thing.

Memorial Day: The Week Before

Ah, before the crowd piled onto Wrightsville Beach, we had a small swell pulse in and the remnants
hung around all weekend.  It would not start breaking until late morning/early afternoon and Memorial Day madness was in full effect.  Monday it was almost gone but the people were still crowding the shoreline.  Hope you got some somewhere.

NE and E wind at 20 knots for four days, Monday was a mess but the Wrightsville Beach Pro Staff  was out making the best of what the ocean had to offer.  Tuesday, W wind and the Ocean was giving up some squishy gems. Lots of the Wrightsville Beach Loggers were out and getting their game on.  Half way through the falling tide was about as good as it was going to get.  Hope you got some.
