ARE YOU KIDDING, FEBRUARY 24 AND IT'S 57 DEGREES.  GLOBAL WARMING YES PLEASE.  MY LAWN MOWER, WEED EATER AND CHAIN SAW ARE RUNNING RIGHT NOW.  there was a shoulder-chest SW swell today but by lunch time it was sweeping down the beach.  It's suppose to go W tonight and knock a lot of it down but there is always hope for some scraps.  I got out yesterday and was all by myself for 45 mins on a nice spot then one other guy came out and we swapped waves for an hour or so.  Nobody else in sight, after 2hrs I called it a day.  Finally got some good waves (waist or better) on the mini.

buy some tools (via harbour freight or the like) get a blank.  BUILD IT YOURSELF that's over half the fun and it costs a lot less.  at least until it becomes a true production board.

ps  there are about 4 different vids with a version of the whale in it.  the one on CI site looks like board one.
there are 2 others on Dane's with what looks to be the earlier version.  "Whaling" seems to feature a newer version.  maybe?  what the hell do i know.  Keep rocking DR.

I have been waiting for a few days for waves and missed the good one a week or so ago.  finally today 3ft @ 5secs.  not great, not good even but a chance to go.  Probably a decent day for the 1st test ride on the new simmons (more on that at a later time).  It was almost to hot for the new 4/3 Ripcurl classic on the beach.  70ish on the beach and 55 in the water are you kidding me?  Last winter this time we had been in a serious cold snap for over a month and the water was in the low 40's and not many days over 50.  I think I'm gonna run my lawn mower a while and maybe burn some trash,too.  Probably shouldn't be to happy March and April it'll most likely snow.  Anyway enjoy it while you can.

yowee  fire ants will  f*&^ a day.  should a stuck your hands in there to see how long you could go.  that would wake ya up.  she's all waxed up and no where to go.  waist to chest  sorry it's not that good.  should a taken a rod, a big ass jack would be good.  rooster fish would be better, get it.  July i guess.  well finishing up a tadee and going to bed.  see ya soon.

too busy

small wave this morning as a low came out of the Gulf.  Yesterday we were waiting for heavy rain and wind.  A strong SW wind did bring us some thigh-waist high surf but the wind was playing tricks and it kinda died some with the high tide. I should have gone this morning but the 4th Annual Cape Fear Striper Tournament http://cfrw.us/stripertourney.html is this weekend and I had to the undirty boat .  man it was nasty.

thinking back to last year

thinking back to last year jan.18th this swell showed up.  the water temp on the 12th was a bur 43. unless it gets really cold really fast we could hover in the 50's for a while. it is 52.2 @ johnny mercer's right now.  ten degrees is that a lot?
