today there was a small swell still lingering from the hard SW winds of the last two days. however, it was hiding under the full moon high tide up and down wrightsville beach except on the south end. crystal pier there were a few fish and shortboards getting some but the longboards were getting most of the morning tide.

saturday surprise
Forecast was knee high. What a happy surprise to those who got up early Saturday morning and went to the beach in the fog to find solid waist with chest high set waves coming on to Wrightsville Beach . I got up early having to work and check the cams to find them fogged in and after a phone call I found out I had an hour window. It was packed up and down the beach on the select sand bars. But with a little patience you could find a face like pic2 with only yourself in the way.

4/28/11 offshore storms
Wrightsville Beach and that crazy band of tornado ridden storms passes offshore last night and got a couple shots on long exposure as the sky was lit up for hours. hoping for good swell in the morning and i forgot the sd card at the house. it wasn't as great as people were hoping. falling tide all morning and hard offshore wind made it not as great as hoped.

when i grow up
Met this guy once in the line up last year but can't remember his name. Every time it is like this he is on it. Early paddle in, bottom turn and up on the tip. over and over and over. He's gotta be mid 60's. He goes all day and is smooth. Wrightsville Beach Master. Gotta find out his name.
