aleia rider

9 19 2012 at wrightsville beach from daylight to 1030 the wind was offshore.  3.6 @ 11 if my memory serves correct.  fun for everyone that got some of this wind swell.  then the wind moved more NE and started to chop up the swell a bit but i had about 3 hours paddling and managed a couple photos so i called
it a day.  sorry for the late post.

Finally, the swell has come back to Wrightsville Beach!  Hurricane Leslie has been pushing in the Gulf Stream for a few days now and the long peroid swell is making its way to Onslow Bay.  S winds are making it a mess but there are some good ones to be had.  Reports keep changing but there should be plenty of time to get out and get yourself something fun.

morning pics here and above.  the afternoon pics below

this morning at wrightsville beach was overcast with WNW kinda cool.  junior was a bit chilly but he managed to paddle for 3 hours but he could not manage to snag one.  we went and got him a long sleeve neo top and this afternoon he dropped in on a couple of bombers and rode them all the way in.  life is good.  the swell did not really get cranking until the afternoon and finally the wait is over.  could not really feel my arms after 4 pm.  WOW!

waiting and waiting

whole lotta this

not much of this
Since the last post there has been a lot of small days at Wrightsville Beach, if you could catch the right tide in the right spot before the wind did there were some fun 2 and 3 ft swell period days that would've satisfied your need to get wet.  Since junior really caught the fever he and i have made the most of these last three weeks surfing at least an hour or two everyday, only missing 3 or 4 days in the last three weeks.  But enough already something has to give it's time.  This weekend is looking like something might happen but you might need a boat or a good warm up paddle if the wind forecast is correct.  We'll see.

another flower on the tree

3ft @7 secs at Wrightsvillle Beach yesterday.  It was fun even in the longboard dominated line up.
i popped a few photos yesterday before paddling out with the boy.
