sunday the swell had changed more to the N and E but still had some stomach high sets coming in.  did not have time for getting wet, had some burgers at an old buddies house near crystal pier and took the remaining frames on the ae-1.  looks like it has a light leakage problem.  half the pics on this roll had that red band striping through it.

  last nights storm front kicked up the SW and brought us something to do this morning.  lots of people on the south end looking for some waist to stomach high gems.  everyone thank big al for going out of town, so that we could get something to ride.  Thanks Al.

i rarely repost someones elses pic but this car is just too bad ass.  the piston grille, slung low and chopped.  but mainly i love the pistons.  i hope no one gets mad at the repost without credits but i was not sure who to give credit to.

Today at Wrightsville Beach was waistish.  Fun even with the wind outta the SW at about 15.  Got a few good drops on the mini.  Man you gotta love the weather, 70 for the high today.  It started getting more crowded when I was leaving but I couldn't stay long.  Mainly because it's March 1st.  If you don't know what that means at Wrightsville Beach here's a couple pictures to remind ya.

ARE YOU KIDDING, FEBRUARY 24 AND IT'S 57 DEGREES.  GLOBAL WARMING YES PLEASE.  MY LAWN MOWER, WEED EATER AND CHAIN SAW ARE RUNNING RIGHT NOW.  there was a shoulder-chest SW swell today but by lunch time it was sweeping down the beach.  It's suppose to go W tonight and knock a lot of it down but there is always hope for some scraps.  I got out yesterday and was all by myself for 45 mins on a nice spot then one other guy came out and we swapped waves for an hour or so.  Nobody else in sight, after 2hrs I called it a day.  Finally got some good waves (waist or better) on the mini.

buy some tools (via harbour freight or the like) get a blank.  BUILD IT YOURSELF that's over half the fun and it costs a lot less.  at least until it becomes a true production board.

ps  there are about 4 different vids with a version of the whale in it.  the one on CI site looks like board one.
there are 2 others on Dane's with what looks to be the earlier version.  "Whaling" seems to feature a newer version.  maybe?  what the hell do i know.  Keep rocking DR.
