thursday before
Pre-irene. some solid chest high sets. About every thirty minutes or so there would be some head high ones but they were dumping pretty hard so you had to be way outside so even get a chance. We rode out the storm last night without power and came back on at 9:30 this morning. Still blowing and there is a ton of pinecones everywhere.

playing in the surf can be fun
| where did my ankle go |
helping your kid and his friend surf can come with a price. after 43 years the stingray random encounter dice hit me. 1/4" wide 1-1/2" deep, damn that shit hurt. the up side was the daladid shot at the medac then laying in the tub for 3-1/2 hrs soaking in hot water. hot water is good for stingray venom.

blueclay road biking can be fun
when there is no swell, blue clay road bike track can be fun as long as you keep yourself upright. face planting on the pump track ends a session pretty fast. but when your son says, "dad that was awesome", and you can walk awaywas still a pretty good day!. go hard or go home, huh. there ya go A.R.

summer blues
just sitting around waiting for the tropics to fire up. there are just crowded beaches and orange sunrises. last weekend the surf was crowded and everyone was chopping due to a predicted chest high swell from the first tropical depression that formed in the caribbean. it did not show, there was some thigh to waist swell but not what people had hoped. longboards were loving it. the rest of the last two weeks has been like the above or wind blown slop.
